Fertilizer Dose Calculator

Get ICAR-recommended NPK doses for your crop and soil type. See exact fertilizer bag quantities needed for your field area.

Nitrogen (N)
kg total
Phosphorus (P)
kg total
Potassium (K)
kg total
Fertilizer Bags Required (50 kg bags)
Urea (46% N)
DAP (18%N + 46%P)
MOP (60% K)

When using DAP, it supplies both N and P. Subtract the N supplied by DAP before calculating additional Urea needed. The calculator shows total fertilizer for each nutrient source independently as a starting point.

Recommendations are based on ICAR general guidelines per acre per season. Actual requirements depend on soil test results, previous crop, irrigation and variety. Conduct soil testing for precise recommendations.

NPK stands for Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) - the three primary macronutrients. Urea is 46% N, DAP is 18% N + 46% P, and MOP is 60% K. The ratio of these nutrients determines crop health and yield.

Divide the N requirement (kg/acre) by 0.46 (Urea is 46% N) to get kg of Urea needed, then divide by 50 for 50-kg bags. For 60 kg N/acre: 60 / 0.46 = 130 kg = 2.6 bags. Our calculator does this automatically.

DAP (18% N + 46% P) is concentrated and widely used. SSP (16% P + 11% S) is preferred for oilseed crops like mustard, groundnut and soybean where sulphur deficiency is common. SSP is cheaper per kg of P but less concentrated than DAP.
