Pressure Converter

Convert between Pa, kPa, MPa, bar, psi, atm, mmHg and inHg - all at a glance.

UnitValue

When to Convert Pressure

Tyre Pressure

Convert tyre inflation specs between psi and bar - most Indian cars use 30–35 psi (2.1–2.4 bar).

Blood Pressure

Understand blood pressure readings in mmHg and compare them with other pressure units.

Meteorology

Convert atmospheric pressure between hPa (millibars) used in weather maps and other units.

Engineering & HVAC

Convert pipe and compressor pressures between bar, psi and kPa for technical specifications.

Diving & Aviation

Convert dive depth pressures and cabin pressure differences to the appropriate units.

Chemistry & Lab

Convert vacuum pressures and reaction chamber pressures between atm, kPa and mmHg.

Pressure Conversion Questions

1 atm = 101,325 Pa = 101.325 kPa = 1.01325 bar = 14.696 psi = 760 mmHg = 29.92 inHg. It represents standard atmospheric pressure at sea level.

2.5 bar × 14.5038 = 36.26 psi. Most passenger car tyres are inflated to 2.0–2.5 bar (29–36 psi). Always check your vehicle's door sticker for the exact recommendation.

mmHg (millimetres of mercury) is used in medicine for blood pressure (e.g. 120/80 mmHg) and in meteorology. 1 mmHg = 133.322 Pa. It is also called a Torr (after Evangelista Torricelli).

Absolute pressure = gauge pressure + atmospheric pressure. Tyre pressure gauges read gauge pressure (pressure above atmospheric). This converter uses absolute values - add 1 atm (14.7 psi) to convert gauge to absolute for tyres.

hPa (hectopascal) = millibar (mbar) = 100 Pa. It is the standard unit used in weather forecasting worldwide. Standard atmospheric pressure = 1013.25 hPa.
