GPA Planner FAQ

The formula is: Required SGPA = (Target CGPA × Total Credits − Current CGPA × Completed Credits) ÷ Remaining Credits. By knowing how many credits you have left and your current standing, you can calculate exactly what average you need each semester to hit your goal.

Recovery is possible but harder as you progress, because you have fewer remaining credits relative to your total. For example, with 96 credits done at 6.5 CGPA and 48 credits remaining, getting 9.0 SGPA every remaining semester will raise your CGPA to about 7.33. The key insight: the fewer semesters remaining, the more extreme performance you need - plan early.

A first-division student typically scores 7.5–8.5 SGPA consistently. Top performers achieve 9.0–10 SGPA. If the planner says you need 9.5+ SGPA to reach your target, consider slightly lowering your CGPA target or focusing on a specific set of subjects where you can score very high. Consistent improvement is more reliable than dramatic single-semester spikes.
