A swim pace calculator helps swimmers plan training sets and race strategies by computing pace per 100 metres, total swim time, total distance, or lap count - whichever variable is unknown. You enter three of the four values and the tool solves for the fourth. It supports standard pool lengths (25 m short-course, 50 m long-course / Olympic) as well as custom open-water distances, making it useful for both pool training and events like triathlons and open-water marathons.
India has produced notable international swimmers over the decades. Virdhawal Khade became the first Indian to break a world record in swimming at the 2009 World Short Course Championships in Manchester, clocking 23.00 seconds in the 50 m butterfly. Sajan Prakash made history in 2021 as the first Indian swimmer to achieve an Olympic 'A' qualification standard. The Swimming Federation of India (SFI) oversees over 35 national-level aquatic meets annually. Across India, swimming academies affiliated to state associations train young athletes in the FINA freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly disciplines, with the 50 m Olympic pool at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Bengaluru campus being a flagship training venue.
Select your pool length, enter your known values (e.g. total distance and target time), and click Calculate to get your required pace per 100 m and total lap count. Use this to set realistic split targets before a race or to structure interval training sets.
